My Co-Workers

The two ladies on the left are my fellow co-workers at DSC.

enjoy!!!!

Hello Spring!!!

I have been waiting to greet spring time for a good while now. As most of you know, I am a hater of winter. Spring to me means new beginnings, rebirth, and energy. Big news in the life of the Wolfman, which most of you know, but I will be changing jobs come April 11th. I have officially put in my two weeks notice here at DSC. Talk about a new beginning... I got to thinking about this yesterday and realized that I didn't even last as long as a woman's pregnancy does. Another interesting fact...on April 11th I will officially pass my father, whose age is 50, in the number of jobs I have held. Kind of scary!!! Anyhoo, it is time to embrace the change, and look forward to the future and the opportunities it brings. Change of subject...Chicago Cubs will win the NL Central this year. Wood and Prior will combine for at least 30 wins this year. I am also not a Braves fan yet, although I am warming up to it. Hawks...yes, Braves...no. Allright, back to the job. I am wondering how this whole quitting stuff works. I have some things that I want to take with me. One being my Mr. Sketch SCENTED Markers. Yes JoJo, the kind you use at the elementary school. 12 markers to sniff all day long. I love them. My favorite color is red (cherry). If I could smell that all day at work, I would be a happy man...and probably high from marker smell. Does anyone feel me on the markers? If so, please let me know what your favorite one is and I will ship it to you as a DSC gift.

Sorry...

I want to say that I am very sorry for not blogging the past couple of days. I returned to work on Monday morning to find that my computer was missing. I really thought that I had been fired or something along those lines. Then some girl showed up and told me that my computer was obsolete and had a virus...hence the full minute it took to open up a single email. Now I am having to use other people's computers while my new one is being shipped. While working here I have always wondered what people did before there was internet. Due to the past couple of days, I have found out that life was probably a living hell before internet at work. Other things going on in my life. I have a new favorite website www.gizoogle.com hopefully this will keep some people busy throughout the day. Let's see...I got my car washed today. I have been taking the back roads to the gas station and was having a little fun mud riding. It really helps to relax the soul after many hours at the office. I highly suggest it. I went to the mountains, or rolling hills of N. Georgia this weekend. Very relaxing...Will, Stephen, Brad, Betsy, Sarah, and Katie all kept me company up there. Did some hiking, eating, and jacuzzi sitting. Yes, that is right...the wolfman's sweater vest has emerged from hibernation. Some fun things that happened up there...Woodham sporting my Swift truck driving hat, after hearing he was on the all-star trucking team, with some skimpy running shorts on, Will wanting to get to know the ladies on a deeper level, Brad telling Will to roll over in the bed and Will responding by rolling his head over and saying 10-4 all night long, Betsy cooking some pancakes out of biscuit mix, Sarah thinking you shoot a gun sideways like a gangsta, and Katie being decked out in all her nike gear to go hiking. well maybe you had to be there to appreciate some of them. anyhoo, my computer has arrived!!! i shall go test the waters and probably get it another virus. While I'm gone...How is everyone's March Madness bracket going? Mine is done with. If, I won every game from here on out then I would probably finish 2nd to last.

Something New for the Week

I had to work in the shipping office today, and I got to thinking about who my all-star truck driving team would be out of my friends. So, instead of FOW here is the All-Star Truck Driving Team for 2005.

1. S. Woodham - This guy has a truck driver's look. He has a receding hair line and also has these pointed toe cowboy boots that would be awesome for driving. He would also get great mileage on his rig b/c I have seen how many miles he has put on the White Ford Explorer (200K+)

2. Bridgers Family - They would be an awesome team driving combo. I mean they could do the cross country trips. They get along great together and while one slept the other could drive. I have heard first hand that truck stops are pretty romantic stops too. Oh yea...don't forget Moses, he gets to drive when Wellon and Stephen want to spend some time in the sleeper together.

3. L. Agnew - Have you ever seen how clean his car is? He would definitely be on my list to enhance the beauty of it. His rig would always be clean, and it would definitely be kept up. He would get the most out of any rig. I also see Lewis sleeping in the cab and than walking into a shipping office with his glasses, and Kiss Me I'm Italian shirt on. That is straight up truck stop material.

4. A. Holt - Budweiser tank top, five o'clock shadow, and chest hair...that is all.

5. R. Brumberg - For some reason this guy just has the trucker image. I mean he would be a killer driver and would probably dominate the industry. I have seen him sport multiple hats that are straight up truck stop, and his enthusiasm for a career that is alternative would definitely fit.

There is my All-Star team right there...now for the ones that were left off.

Maggie Carter - Look at how many wrecks she has had...disaster waiting to happen, especially in a big rig.
Jordan Orso - Sorry, they don't have plush accommodations in the sleeper of a rig. Just a mattress and room for your clothes.
Robbie Fiser/Betsy Nicholson - Sorry no workout facilities in the truck stops. Also for R. Fiser you have to have a sense of direction.
Will Gaither - Way too many speeding tickets...
My Dad/My Grandmother - You too go to sleep to easily. The long nights would kill you.
Anna Fiser - Truck stops are not very clean. You would never make it.
Everyone Else - You wouldn't like the lifestyle...It seems pretty boring.
If you feel that you deserved to be on the list for the All-Star team please let me know and I will reconsider for next years team.

My Top 5 Moments at Jordan-Hare Stadium

Here are my most memorable moments at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama:

5. Tennessee game senior year when we were having a lackluster year and the Vols came in ranked #7 in the nation. We absolutely man handled them, but that wasn't what holds in my memory. I remember right as the clock hit zero everyone in the student section started throwing things on the field. While I took a shower in whiskey, I spotted Drew Cater looking for something to throw. He was frantically looking for some cup, nacho tray, or shaker, but the first thing he ran across was a girls shoe. He roped that thing onto the field like he was throwing someone out at home plate. I remember looking right behind him and some girl, forgotten who it was, looked as if she was about to body slam him. This was such a priceless moment that I had to include it in my top 5.

4. Georgia game my freshman year. This game was one for the ages. It was all knotted up at the end of regulation and went into overtime. The game had been back and forth the whole time. Finally, in OT we held UGA to a field goal on their first possession and we cashed in on a QB sneak to win the game. Now the reason this is such a memorable experience is because two of my pledge brothers thought it would be cool to rush the field, Dave Collins and John Wallace. Well they both got past the first wave of cops when they realized that no one else was rushing the field. I remember both of them looking at each other and instantly sobering up. Wallace had a pretty easy time getting back into the stands, but Collins didn't. I recall Collins juking two cops, and then stiff arming a third to the ground. He then jumped over the rail like it was a pile on the goal line and made is safely back into the stands. It was probably the best run in the stadium the whole afternoon.

3. First play of the Alabama game senior year, when Cadillac took the hand off and ran all the way down into the red zone. I am going to need some assistance on how long that run was. This set the tone for the whole night. It was sheer domination by the Tigers. I remember me and Shug sitting together with our dates and I believe they were sick of us after the first play b/c we kept hugging everyone around us and giving them high fives. It was nuts. I had chill bumps all over my body. I still get chills thinking about that game, and even as I type.

2. Florida game sophomore year. We all know what happened. UF came in ranked #1 in the nation. We were double digit underdogs to Spurrier and his boys. One thing I remember in particular was the weather. It was tornado type weather, and something was eerie about the whole situation. You could sense the feeling that something crazy was going to happen that night. The flags on the field goals were blowing one way, and the American flag on the flag pole was flying the other way. Anywho, the Tigers kept it close all game and it was back and forth. It was a game for the ages. Well Auburn got the ball late in the game and drove down to field goal range then called a timeout. Auburn brought out Damon Duval to kick the game winning field goal. Everyone was going crazy, and then a calm came over the stadium as he came to kick. From my angle I thought he had missed it, but the refs came out with both arms up. The place was rocking, people started rushing the field, including me. The goal post got torn down and fans were giving players high fives. I'll never forget that night, and the fact that Blake Smith got arrested for charging the field along with about 40,000 other students. Good Times.

1. Nothing lives up to my last game as a student at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Alabama game... We totally dominated the Tide all night long. They were sick of seeing Carnell tear them up. But the best memory at Jordan-Hare stadium was standing with Shug, Craig, Rabun, and Stewart at the end of the game singing the "Hey Bama"..."We just beat the hell out of you"..."Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer, Go to hell Alabama".

So, there they are...

LOST!!!!

I have lost all of my Ole Miss Rebel commenters. I am putting a reward out there if anyone can find them. The reward will be 2 Miller High Life 40's, a Georgia Mega Millions Lotto Ticket, and a bag of Seattle Drip coffee. Their names and descriptions are as follows:
1. Josh Evans - Blonde hair about my height, probably hasn't shaved in a while, glasses, and reading something.
2. David Weems - somewhat tall, strapping, blonde haired. Probably sipping on a Budweiser. My guess is down in Destin kickin' it with a guy who goes by Ridg
3. Mark Steele - around my height, dark hair, dark complexion aka "dark stallion", if he hasn't shaven in a while you might mistake him for a Mexican
4. Clare Smith - dark hair, always happy, beautiful woman, engagement ring on left hand, My guess for her is that she is somewhere picking out wedding stuff with a lady by the name of Geraldine sp?.

If you know the whereabouts of any of these individuals, please send a comment to this post and the reward will be yours.

No No! Words in a Wedding Announcement

Yesterday, I checked my hotmail account, which I hate after seeing the light of gmail, I ran across an email that Ms. JoJo Orso had written. She sent a link for an incredibly outrageous wedding announcement for some couple in Birmingham, or probably Pinson, home of Charlie Baxley. Jordan's reply to this announcement was this, "if I ever have the words "penthouse" and "pleasure" in my wedding announcement just go ahead and shoot me." So, this brings me to a survey...What words, if included in your wedding announcement, would be grounds for someone to shoot you. I'll throw one out there, "Moist", like the cake was very moist and delicious. Holler!!!

Carter/O'Connor Hometown

Alright, I have gotten multiple emails from Maggie Carter, soon to be O'Connor, on where she and her future husband Tyler are looking to live. I have heard Anniston and Auburn, but am still confused on where they are going to live. So, I think as loyal friends to the future O'Connor couple we should decide for them. Mike Rogers, the guy Tyler is working for, has a district that runs throughout East Central Alabama. The counties include Montgomery, Macon, Russell, Lee, Chambers, Tallapoosa, Coosa, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Cleburne, Calhoun, and Cherokee. So all of those being said I suggest everyone do some research and find a city that would suit the future O'Connor family. There are plenty of great suggestions on where they can live including, but not limited to, Montgomery, Auburn, Opelika, Lafayette, Lake Martin area, Anniston, and Oxford (I think). Please cast your vote on where they should live after their marriage. My vote goes for a little ole town called Tuskegee. I mean Tyler can hunt in the Tuskegee forest all the time, and Maggie can get a job as SGA Advisor at Tuskegee University. I can't think of a better fit for them. So, there is my vote...please cast your vote and I will tally them up and present my findings to the future O'Connor family.

Office scenery

Well, well it has been another humorous day checking out the sights/stories in the office. To start...our inventory control manager here has decided to take casual Friday to the extreme. She is sporting a pair of gray sweatpants, brown leather loafers, and a Ricky Carmichael #4 race car t-shirt. Next is a shipping clerk here, we'll call her Bertha...bear with me on this one. I not only have some fashion news about her, but I have a story. She has decided to interpret the casual Friday dress code by dressing in her Deion Sanders jersey, black and red DSC hat, a pair of black sweatpants, and black military boots. I would have to say this is the ultimate in sexy. And the story... today I have gathered further evidence on my "At What Age is it O.K." post. You know, the one where at what age does it become ok to burp and fart in public. Well I walked into the breakroom about an hour after lunch to fill my water bottle. When I entered I was greeted by the taintest smell that has ever tickled my nose. I covered my nose really quick and looked up to see Bertha in agony. I asked what was wrong, and she informed me that the hot dogs for lunch did not agree with her. She then explained to me that she didn't even eat that much, only three hot dogs with chili and cheese on top. Then she asked me if I had any medicine for GAS. Thoroughly disgusted by the smell I looked at her and told her she needed to go home. So, I like to treat every experience as a lesson in life and I learned a couple today. 1. Don't get around Bertha after free chili dog day. 2. Bertha, 43 years old falls in the age range in which it is ok to fart in public, furthering my hypothesis of 35 years old being the minimum age. 3. Last lesson...My first task in managing someone...send someone home when their lunch doesn't agree with them and they decide to pass gas at the work place b/c technically this is disruption of the workplace, which can get you fired and can not be fought against in an unemployment hearing.

Gray Fiser's T-shirt Hall of Fame

I have owned a lot of T-shirts in my lifetime. In fact, I have a whole dresser at home filled with T-shirts that are from college and don't get much use anymore. Anyways, there are a couple of T-shirts that will be inducted into the Gray Fiser T-shirt Hall of Fame today. Here are the inductees for March 11, 2005.

1. Abe's BBQ (Navy) - This t-shirt has a great story. I received this as a gift from my grandparents in my junior year of high school. It was one of those shirts that arrived with a soft touch and after many washes still had a soft touch. When I left to go to college this was the first shirt I packed. One day at pledge football practice I was sporting this T, and then we had to play shirts and skins. Well, I became a skin and threw my shirt off to the side. Little did I know that this would be the most tragic day of this T-shirts life. It got kidnapped on that dreary day. For a whole year I couldn't find it. I was in utter misery, and grief overcame my soul. A month after getting over my grief I had one of the happiest days of my life. I was walking through the Beta house when all of the sudden before my very eyes, Abe's BBQ appeared in front of me on the body of Daniel Lilly. Probably one of the most exciting days of my college career. He, the T-shirt, was promptly returned to me, but not without scars. It now has two holes on the front that remind me everyday of the separation of the two of us. Please help me in congratulating Abe's BBQ for being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

2. 1998 Kappa Delta Formal (long sleeve/white) - What an incredible career this shirt has had. I also received this shirt my junior year of high school from my sister Robbie. This shirt was unlike any other long sleeve shirt I owned. The reason it was so unique is because the cuffs on the sleeves were not too tight and not too loose. They were a perfect fit for my wrist size. This shirt doubled as a coat for me many times. I would think..."do I need to wear a coat? Nah, I will just throw on my 1998 Kappa Delta Formal shirt to keep me warm." Another reason this shirt is so special is b/c it gave me a sense of pride. I would walk through the halls of high school, with my chin held high, wearing it and thinking to myself, "I bet no one else has a 1998 Kappa Delta Formal Long Sleeve shirt from Auburn University". Then I came to college and no freshman had a shirt from the class of 1998. It made me feel older and more seasoned. I felt like older girls looked at me and thought, "Look at that fine young lad sporting that 1998 Kappa Delta Formal Long sleeve shirt", but they probably weren't. Oh well, It gave me an incredible sense of pride anyways. I would like to thank this T-shirt for everything it has meant to me, Robbie for giving it to me, and want to congratulate it on the honor of being inducted into Gray Fiser's T-Shirt Hall of Fame.

I would like to hear about your favorite T's. DW, I know that the Exit/In t-shirt will definitely make your list. Lewis, my gut feeling is the "Kiss Me b/c I'm Italian" shirt that is featured on the Working Days... blog. Mark, I know that the Back to School Dance shirt with the Tabasco logo will make yours. Please everyone give me a little description on your favorite T's.

FOW

Oh yea!!! It is that time of the week. Time to announce the Working Days... Fan of the Week. (I wish there was some Bon Jovi playing in the background as you read this, preferably the start of Livin on a Prayer) The FOW for the week of March 5-11 is... Ms. Jordan Orso. JoJo, as I call her, is a recent graduate from Auburn University, where she received a degree in Elementary Education. She is a product of Mountain Brook, AL, and now has returned to the Brook to share her wealth of knowledge with young elementary kids at Crestline Elementary. JoJo was an essential part in the force which became known as "The Dumas Kids", and was a two year letter winner. She also held the prestigious position of VP of the Nap Club. There is a new love in the life of JoJo these days, and that is Mr. Alex Holt, previous winner of FOW...isn't that cute they can pose for a picture with their awards in their hands. Some of JoJo's hobbies include, watching Gilmore Girls, taking naps, spending days at the Carter/Bridgers lake house, and modeling for Macy's lingerie department in Birmingham. When asked for a quote, Katie Heard had this to say, "She has the biggest heart, and makes everyone feel special. I can't think of a more complete human being. She teaches by day and models lingerie by night...I mean who wouldn't want the "Hot Teacher" as a an elementary teacher. Those kids probably love to hug on Ms. Orso." Congratulations JoJo and keep up the good work.

Welcome New Commenters

I would like to extend a warm welcome to two wildcards on the Working Days... blog. First, Mr. Matt Owen aka Cabana Boy. Matt is a graduate of Auburn University and now resides in DC. The second wildcard to show his face is Mr. Joshua Nolan Evans. Josh, a long time friend from high school, is in school at the University of Mississippi completing his bachelor's degree. Welcome new commenters!!!

Information Notes for Today

Today, there are two things you should know that are going on at the office. To start, we officially had our first attractive, well put together, classy, female show up inside the office today, besides Grace that is. Too bad she was only a visitor b/c she could have really climbed the corporate ladder quick. Second, I am sporting a mullet today. Not so much the Billy Ray Cyrus mullet, but more the Dan Marino, 80's, curly haired mullet. I kind of like the look I have going right now.

Worst Towns In America

I want to know what town everyone thinks is the worst in America. My vote is for Branson, MO. The only thing of worth in this town is Kanakuk Kamps, and an amazing kamp like this can't even pull it out of the gutter. Honorable Mention for me is Tuscaloosa, AL (sorry Bridgers/Rush families...University of Alabama doesn't help this towns rankings either) and Waco, TX (Take Baylor, Mark Steele and his friends, and George's out of this town and it would have gotten 1st). Just some of my thoughts...Yours?

Congratulations to Myself!!!

That's right...I officially won the award for "Most Disgruntled Worker of the Day" yesterday. I awarded it to myself on my drive home yesterday. I had a nice 2 minute acceptance speech to myself in the car, and I think that this girl in a Honda Civic thought I was crazy when she saw me driving and talking to myself. Little did she know that I was just presented with the most prestigious award in the Atlanta working community. Now one might ask what qualifies me for this award, and I shall tell you. Imagine having to count everything that you own. Shirts, shoes, bikes, pots, pans, beds, etc...you get my drift. Not only do you have to count the right quantity, you also have to read the labels on everything and make sure that the size on the shirt, shoe, mattress, etc. match up with all your receipts of the things that you bought. If you can't find that receipt you have to track it down. Alright you get the picture, counting crap all day, and having to track down everything for your purchases. Well, that was yesterday for me. So, I rewarded myself by getting on the internet and updating my profile on certain websites that will go unmentioned due to the easy access to this webpage. A little hint...you might have been afraid of these specimens when you were younger, and they possibly lived under your bed, then add a dot com at the end of that. Well, I would like to congratulate myself for the award and let myself know I was very deserving of this award...Then I snapped into realization that I didn't deserve this award when I started reading the book 50 Jobs Worse Than Yours, a gift from my little sister, Anna. Some of the jobs that snapped me back into reality were a Saddam Hussein look a like, a Sherpa, It's a Small World ride operator, and lastly a sperm donor sample collector. So, next time you have an experience like I did yesterday, pick up a copy of this book.

Substitute Teachers

Well thanks to Ms. JoJo Orso, who is filling in as a substitute teacher today, I have been inspired to blog about some of my favorite and least favorite substitute experiences. First of all, I was that nightmare student that every sub. hated. If I knew that we were going to have a sub. in class I would always drink an extra Mountain Dew for lunch, or eat more candy during the day just to gear up for the class. I would say that over 3/4's of my 14 detentions I got were due to a substitute teacher. I also believe my parents received around 3-5 calls from teachers saying how bad I acted while the sub. was there. So, that being said here are some of the memories of my subs.
1. Luther/Gay Street combo - Now these two were definitly characters. Luther had a lack of hearing so you could get away with anything. He was so naive too. If he was a sub for study hall, I would tell him I was going to the library to do research, and then just walk around the school for the whole 50 min. period. I think on the 32nd time I told him I was going to the library for research he finally caught on and came looking for me. He must have thought that I was doing a doctoral thesis or something. Now Gay, Luther's better half, was a little bit more difficult to get by. On a side note, I do recall she had a pretty thick female mustache going...even I was envious of it. Ladies, please wax that stuff there is nothing worse. I will be happy to pay for my future wife's upper lip waxing. OK so enough about the female stache...When Gay would sub. you had to be a little bit slyer than with Luther. When she would sub, I would use the technique of, "I am going to take the absent slip to the office then go talk to a teacher." She would always say to bring back a note from the teacher. Well there was a particular teacher that I could write exactly like. I had mastered it in Pre-Cal one day. So, I always used that. I always returned to class five minutes b/f the bell and had the note in hand. Gay never knew what was going on. So there is the Luther/Gay Street combo. Oh and my total detention count with them was around 3.

2. Lee Anne Elinsky - I had the biggest crush on her. She was a sub for Mrs. Neely in our physical science class a couple of times. She was late 20's, blonde hair, blue eyes, and tall. She was every school boys dream. Only two problems...I was 13 and she was married. I do think I left a fingerprint on her heart though b/c she was the daughter of one of our neighbors and that particular neighbor mentioned that her daughter had enjoyed subbing for "my" class. After she subbed, I suggested that anytime Mrs. Neely was out that I would be happy to arrange a substitute teacher for her. Too bad Mrs. Neely only got her one time more after the first time.

3. Mrs. Hrom - Her last name was pronounced Rom like in CD-Rom, but I always harassed her by emphasizing the "H" in front of her name with a hacking "H" sound. She hated it, but I kept on. I want to say that she is the sub that gave me detention the most. Whenever I walked into the class and saw that she was subbing, the first thing I would do is walk up to the front and fill out my own detention form and save her the hassle of doing it herself. She hated me. That's all with her.

4. Coach Ethridge - All I can say is he was a red headed weirdo. DW you might have to fill in some stories on this cat.

Those are my most memorable substitute teachers and in the final rankings from worst to best it would go like this:
5. Coach Ethridge
4. Gay Street
3. Mrs. Hrom
2. Luther Street
1. Lee Anne Elinsky...my junior high love.

Any good stories about your substitute teachers?

Love at First Sight

I have officially fallen in love. While reading my March issue of Outside Magazine, I ran into my love on the front cover. Her name is Sonya Balmores, and I will be professing my love to her in April when I go on my Hawaiian adventure. Please keep it a secret, I want to surprise her.

Fashion Advice

I am looking to solicit some fashion advice from people out there. Now that the weather is starting to warm up, I need to know whether or not to wear an undershirt. Most of you know me, and I am a pretty hairy individual. (hence my nickname given to me by Greg, "Wolfman") In a self study, I have found myself to be an "8" on the hairy scale of 1-10, "10" being the hairiest. So, all that being said, should I wear the undershirt or leave it at home? Personally I like to let the hair flow like wine out of my shirt.

Country Music

I have been on a country music kick for the past couple of weeks, so with all due respect to my kick here are my Top 5 artist/groups and favorite song of theirs:
5. Hank Williams Jr. - Dixie on My Mind
4. Kenny Chesney - Not so much his new stuff, but more of the old Kenny (probably the reason he is sitting as low as #4)...The Good Stuff is my favorite though
3. Brooks and Dunn - Hard Workin' Man
2. George Strait - Carrying Your Love With Me
1. Alabama - Song of the South
Thoughts? Your favorites? Anyone needed to be replaced?
