Reebok Pumps

Does anyone remember the days of the Reebok Pumps? These are kind of like the Wind Suits...where did these two items of clothing/footwear go? I remember Dee Brown pumping his shoes up for the slam dunk contest back in the day. I also remember that about 10 people in my elementary school got a pair of Reebok Pumps within a week of Dee's pumping. The first one being Mr. Ro Taylor...yes I do remember things like that. I was very envious of all the people who had the pumps, but I never actually owned a pair. Did any of you own a pair of Reebok Pumps, and if so do you still have them?

all i remember is that all of the boys had them but there was really no point to the pump because they stuck their pencils in the little basketball & ripped it off, so it didn't work anyway - those were silly shoes; but did anyone at jackson academy have B.K Lights??? way cool - I think i wore Keds slip-ons until 6th grade - except one time i had some tretorns because miller beale did and I wanted some. ha ha.

The same Miller Beale that was Queen of that ridiculous Krewe Ball? (the krewe ball wasn't ridiculous b/c of you (maggie) though) B.K. Lights were so 5th grade too. I remember a guy by the name of Austin Brown who had a pair of those. Mark you may recall that dude.

I had the Reebok Pumps. I once pumped them up so much that they cut off the circulation in my foot. Yes, I was a smart kid back then. As for B.K. Lights at Jackson Academy, there were many a young Raider sporting the Lights back in the elementary years; I unfortunately was not one. I was a pumps fan.

Ya'll are all forgetting Sixth grade when Nike Air Max came out. They were awesome, maybe I'm just harking on those because I wasn't priviliged enough to own a pair of pumps, which by the way are really cheap on ebay right now.

I never had Reebok pumps in elementary school, but I DID have 2 pairs Nike Flight, with the upside down triangle logo!

Who WASNT a Dominique Wilkins fan in the early 90s??

I also remember another "so 5th grade" shoe... i think it was the charles barkley? but it was all black, kind of suede-y w/ hot pink on it... and all of the cute boys had them!

Since I have the worst memory EVER I don't remember a lot of these shoes. I do remember the Reeboks though... what did the pump do exactly??? Maggs, I definitely remember the ked slip ons. I love how they got progressively cooler as we got older... first canvas, then leather, and then if you were really cool like Naftel you got hot pink ones! Oh the days...

I was there with maggie sporting the keds back in the day. However, my brother did get the reebok pumps over which i was insanely jealous. sometimes he would let me pump them up for him..i wanted a pair but i dont think they made them for girls, those sexist pigs. jk...

I never had the pumps, I did however have reebok blacktops and the nike flights. Speaking of Austin Brown, where is he now? A funny story bout the pumps, my brother used to want a pair of the pumps but my mom was cheap and wouldnt buy them for him. the shoes he had were some payless shoe that had a really fat tongue. my brother used to pretend he was pumping up his shoes even though they had no pump. I guess you had to be there.

Gray, I am absolutely enthralled at this web page. you truly are gifted. Now...onto the issue of the reebok pumps...i do remember the shoes...though never actually had a pair. i did, however, somehow attain an oversized black reebok shirt featuring the pumps in neon colors in which i very strategically rolled the sleeves to make the perfect cuff...i even went as far as to layering a hot pink shirt underneath so as to sport the "colored cuff" look. i wore it proudly as if i had somehow attained close to the same status had i actually owned a pair of the pumps myself.

i remember at one point austin was going to go to auburn, but i think he went to MC instead. he might have transferred when Jay roberson transferred up to ole miss

I have to say that Im an MC hater. People used to say M.C.S. Beagles (bc it was like 13th grade for E.C.S. Eagles)

I remember before the Worldcom scandal, MC always filled their brochures with success stories of their most famous graduate, Bernie Ebbers . . .
