Icy Juicy

As I swallowed my last sip of Orange Juice, memories of childhood came back to me. For a moment I felt as if I was back at the Hanging Moss Pool in Jackson, MS, on a hot summer day drinking the remnants of my Icy Juicy. For everyone to be on the same page, these things were the triangular popsicles that had ice that was finer than rabbit pellet ice. Whatever happened to these things. I mean are they like the wind suits? Lost and gone forever. Well, the last time I enjoyed an Icy Juicy was when I worked at Kanakuk Kamps the summer after my freshman year in college. It was like an Icy Juicy Renaissance when they broke out the grape, orange, and cherry flavors. We had a little cheer for it..."I say, you say, I want an icy juicy". After chanting this over and over we finally got our wish. Well if you know where the Icy Juicy's are then please let me know. Summer is on its way and I have a freezer that is in need of some lovin'.

I am a fan - true. But much more of a fan of the Flinstones Push up pops.

Gray, I think your Icy Juicy has reincarnated in the form of Fruit Jucies. Next time your are in Jackson, stop by the house and look in the freezer. There should be a cherry or an orange left but I'm pretty sure I ate all of the grape ones.

Gray -
Much like you, I have been in search of the Icy Juicy for about the past ten years. I remember them oh so fondly - The grape, the orange, the cherry. I never did decide which one I loved the most. Anywho, I went looking for them in the grocery store (freezer section) and realized that they have been replaced. Or at least I think they have, by a MinuteMaid version. While this may come as a shock to you, I purchased them anyway and enjoyed their frozen goodness for a week straight. While, it is not possible for the newfound imposter to replace our finest icy juicy hours, I guess we must make due and enjoy the MinuteMaid Fruit Pops as much as we can.
